St. Seohyun

Seohyun has been popular with guys ever since debut, everyone knew it. But because she is the timid innocent maknae of SNSD and is well known to favor gogumas over boys, no one had the courage to pursue her.

A few months after Seohyun entered the program We Got Married, boys swarmed in their apartment hoping to catch her heart, 3 boys in particular. It seems like WGM gave them a sign that she is now open for a relationship, which is partly true. She is ready for a relationship, only if that guy is Jung Yonghwa, her virtual husband.

A little after 9 pm after their respective schedule is done for that day, Seohyun’s phone rang. She answered on the first ring, she knew who the caller is without looking at the caller ID, he has an assigned ring tone, Love light. “I was about to call you Yong” she said a smile adorned her face

Yonghwa chuckled softly on the other end “You’ve thought of me? Wow, thank you!” he answered

“Dangyunhaji!” she answered while her insides did a summersault, a smile didn’t leave her face as it felt warmer

“I heard Minho visited you again” he pried, one eyebrow slightly raised albeit the humor on his voice

“Aigoo, just let him be.” she chuckled slightly, giddy of the fact that Yonghwa seems jealous, but he might say he’s joking if she asks him, right? It’s always been a joke to him, she sighed.

“Why are you defending him? Is he your crush?” he joked albeit being jealous. He can’t help it to be jealous although he perfectly know he has no right to, she’s just a virtual wife.

“Wae? I don’t have plans in having a boyfriend yet” she said in between chuckles, upon hearing those, his heart skipped a beat “you know very well that I only have 1 crush in the whole wide world.” She tried teasing him

“Who?! Johnny Dept?” he answered playfully

“Not a Hollywood actor” she said, Yonghwa can hear the humor in her voiced which he liked so much and took pride off, mainly because he is the only guy that Seohyun can joke around. He has been monitoring all her shows from way back to present that he can confidently say that he is the only guy Seo Joo Hyun is not awkward with, at least not at the present.

“Hmmnnn, Jung Yonghwa?!” he joked that made Seohyun laugh loudly, he can imagine her covering her mouth as she did

“Is he handsome? That Jung Yonghwa?” she responded playfully

“Super!” He laughed “You’re in your dorm right?” he asked and after she affirmed “I’ll be there in a 30 minutes max, see you later.” they said their goodbyes and ended the call, he changed his clothes to decent ones and hurriedly drove his way to their dorm

Seohyun ransacked her closet and changed her clothes, put on a little make-up with the help of her ever so reliable Hyoyeon unnie.

Excitedly, she went out of their room and slumped on the living room floor, waiting silently. While the rest of her unnies watch TV.

But before Yonghwa arrived, Jinwoon arrived, a vegetable pizza as big as their round table on hand. Her unnies giggled as they saw him and gave Seohyun a teasing look. But before they decided to leave them alone in the living room, the doorbell rang and was surprised to see Minho, carrying with him a basket full of flowers.

Seohyun watched her unnies getting excited as some of them served her visitors refreshments. After a few minutes they heard another doorbell and were more surprised to see Kyuhyun walking behind Yuri who opened the door “Yah, uri Seohyun is popular nowadays” she smiled, her eyes sparkling.

She squirmed on her seat as Kyuhyun handed her 3 boxes of chocolates. She felt flattered and happy to be showered with attention from opposite sex, although she has no plan in accepting any one of them

“What if, I’ll just refuse these three now?” She thought. She didn’t know what to do, she looked at the three of them who are now sitting on their sofa, they are on her line of sight, and she looked at their handsome face one by one in panic, they seem to be uncomfortable too, but she can also sense determination in their eyes. Seohyun felt at lost, she can only entertain one suitor at a time, she can’t believe all 3 of them are here at the same time and worse, Yonghwa might be here in a little while.

Now she regret on listening to her unnies’ advice of accepting suitors though she knew and they knew as well that she can’t love them coz someone already owns her heart. They said to leave her options open and so she did and look what it got her. She heaves a sigh.

And so after a little while, they heard another doorbell. He Jessica unnie beat her to the door, her face full of excitement “Who could this be?” she said in a sing-sang tone “Omo, Jung- Seobang! Come in!” she said loudly, Seohyun perfectly knows her unnies are enjoying her misery.

The 3 people on the couch looked at each other as they heard Yonghwa’s name.

Yonghwa walked inside and was surprised with what he saw in the living room. “Was there a holy mass earlier?” Yonghwa voiced

Seohyun looked at him in confusion “Ani, wae?” she asked

“Why is it that there are many offerings? Is there a relic that came in your dorm?” he added

Now she realized he was being sarcastic, especially when he complained about the chair.

She stood up and offered her chair to him “You sit here then”

“Okay. You can sit on my lap then” he half joked, a little pissed

Seohyun chuckled “Michin-yo?! Wait, I’ll go get a chair” she said but was interrupted when Yoona swerved a seat to Yonghwa

“Omo! Thank you sister-in-law! It seems like you have a box office show here in your dorm” Yonghwa said with a smile that doesn’t reach the eye

Yoona went back to the nearby room after giving him a smile as if nothing happened, Seohyun can only shake her head of her unnies’ silliness, and obviously they don’t plan in concealing their eavesdropping.

Yonghwa pulled his chair closer to hers and looked at the 3 now uneasy people “Annyeong! What’s in here in Seohyun dorm that you three are here?” he mused at them

Kyuhyun smirks “The same reasons as you do” he answered

Yonghwa’s eyes bulged “You came here to eat too?” he feigned innocence

Seohyun laughed and slapped his shoulder lightly “Stop it!” she whined. Although Seohyun knows they knew each other, it didn’t keep her from introducing them again.

Kyuhyun stood and said “Seohyunie, I’ll come back another time.” he looked at Yonghwa as he did

Yonghwa stood and offered a shake hands “Take care and good night!” he said, Kyuhyun just nodded at him, he was followed by Minho a little later.

“I heard your dorm in far from her Jinwoon-ssi.” He said, jealousy now showing in his voice

Jinwoon looked at him straight to the eyes “As far as I knew, no one still owns Seohyun” he answered back bravely

Yonghwa’s eyes sharpened as he heard his reply “Of course! No one owned her, she’s human. Does she look like a car to you?”

Jinwoon inhaled sharply, he looked at Seohyun and bid goodbye but not after giving Yonghwa the look.

As soon as her last suitor went out Seohyun closed their distance and said “Why were you so sarcastic and mean? They are good people!” she mused, her arms across her chest

“You’re the one who’s mean” Yonghwa replied, he grabbed the untouched glass of water on the table and drank to calm himself

“Why me?” Seohyun pointed to herself in confusion

“Why me? he mocked “What can you call on what you just did? You knew I was coming and you received a visitor and not just one, three!” he held his three fingers in front of her face

“I didn’t know they’d be here” she argued calmly

“You could’ve hide yourself from them” he suggested

“I’m not that kind of person, they came here with good intentions so I should at least face them with gratitude. There’s nothing wrong in visiting me here” she rapped

“Why would they do that? You’re not even sick!” he knew he’s being ridiculous but he can’t help it

“I’m not joking with you” Seohyun’s patience started to drain

“What? You’re getting mad? I should be the one getting mad. I worked hard planting but others will be the one harvesting it?” he rapped back

“What do you mean?” he forehead creased, her tone an octave higher

He calmed down as he saw her getting more upset “Doesn’t matter. We’ll talk after you calmed down” he walked out their door

Yonghwa knew he was wrong, but his mind was clouded with jealousy as soon as he saw her suitors piling up. And he can’t help himself being mean and sarcastic. He knew Seohyun has her share of suitors and as a guy; he can’t blame them for it. She’s not only beautiful, she’s also smart, humble, and innocent, he can go all night describing her. He is angry because he can’t refrain those guys in pursuing her. He told Jinwoon that no one owns Seohyun because she’s human, not a thing but he felt he owned her. Mainly because he was the reason why Seohyun shines brightly these days, the reason why she seems more open in relationships now than before. He was the one who polished that diamond. And he hates it that someone other than him can get her.

He called her as soon as he got home “You still mad?” he asked s soon as she picked up “I’m sorry”

What can she say? When it comes to Yonghwa her heart just melts. She can’t possibly pretend to not forgive him right? She can’t possibly do that, sad but true. “Why did you call?” she asked instead

“To say I’m sorry” he said

“It’s okay, I’m not mad anymore, but please, next time, please don’t do that to my visitors. They’re good people and it’s my right to receive suitors” She pleaded

“I know and I’m going to do something about it.” He answered determination in his voice

“What do you mean?” Seohyun’s eyebrows met in confusion

“I’m going to remove your rights to receive suitors”

“Huh?” she answered more confused

“Seo Joo Hyun, will you be my girlfriend?” he asked directly

Seohyun’s heart jumped upon hearing his reply. Her cheeks turned into a dark shade of pink. “Aigoo oppa, why is this so sudden and why would I do that?”

Yonghwa took a deep breath and say “Because I love you. I love you Seo Joo Hyun”

She must be dreaming, no, she must have gone crazy and now she’s hallucinating, her head feels light and it seems her feet have wings, she felt like flying

“Please say yes… I’ll explain it to you later but for now you should say yes” he pleaded

“Yah! You’re not asking her, you’re imposing!” she heard Minhyuk’s voice, he must be beside Yonghwa

“Hyung-soo-nim!” she heard Jungshin’s voice on the line “Uri Hyung is in love with you and you’ve got to believe me coz he does this…hhmmmpp” she did not hear the rest of his sentence coz it seems like someone stuffed his mouth with socks

“Saranghae Seo Joo Hyun” Yonghwa again proclaimed

“Na do, Saranghae” Seohyun answered shyly, she fanned her face with her hand

Yonghwa’s heart beats so fast he sure can run a marathon, he let out a wide grin “Yaaaahhhhoooooo!!” he heard Seohyun laughed whole heartedly “wait for me, I’ll come over”

“Again?” she said but a dial tone answered her. She sighed giddily; butterflies are inside her stomach as she thought of him.

In no time she received a message saying he’s outside the door, she hurriedly opened it for him

“I didn’t want to wake your unnies” he said as their eyes met. All emotions that they kept inside are shown.

He held her close; Seohyun buried her face on his chest “Seo Joo Hyun, Saranghae! Thank you for loving me back” he sniffed once and then twice

She looked up on his face “Why are you sniffing me?” she chuckled but confused at the same time

“You smell great! What’s the brand of your bath soap and shampoo?” they have been together in the show yes, but it’s the first time he held her this close.

“Body shop” she answered, amused

But he had an impression that the scent is coming from within her. Maybe that was how good people smelled, just like the Saints his mother told him when he was little. She said they smelled great, always smelled like flowers even after they die.

“You must be a saint, Seo Joo Hyun”
